New Legislation Changes Liability Insurance Requirements for RCFEs

by builtinsurance 5 February , 2019

Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) have a great deal of responsibility, as they help seniors perform daily living activities in a home-like setting. Due to the increased liability and risk exposure, it is important that RCFEs hold the right coverage. Recent legislation known as AB 1523 Bill becomes effective on July 1st, 2015, and will require that all RCFEs hold liability insurance in the amount of at least $1 million per accident and $3 million in total.

This is extremely good news for both RCFE owners and their residents and guests. Both will finally be receiving much-deserving protection. This liability insurance policy will allow guests to feel comfortable knowing any injuries that may occur will be covered by insurance and RCFE owners will finally be able to feel confident that one accident will not cause financial ruin for their biggest investment.
